Angela Eats!

Decided to start blogging about all the places I eat out ... particularly in NYC!! :)

Here are some reviews of past restaurants to start off.

Pearl Oyster Bar - NYC
I visited Pearl Oyster Bar when TS took me there in March of 2010. Too bad I was super retarded and didn't take any pictures during my whole NYC trip that week. Still, one of the most notable places to eat. Their lobster rolls are to die for. Not to mention their crab cakes were just the right amount of delicious.

Apparently there are long lines although we went on a Thursday night and it wasn't too bad of a wait.

Convivio - NYC
TS took me out to a nice Italian dinner ... I'm so lucky. Again no pictures but what we had was the four course prix fixe. I'm so stupid, I really regret not taking any pictures. Anyways, I remember by the 3rd course (mine was pork chops which came to me like this HUGE drumstick) I was so stuffed I could only eat a bite of it. Can you believe the 2nd course is a pasta dish? Isn't pasta usually the main course? How can you eat a appetizer, pasta, AND a meat dish followed by dessert?
I also loved the atmosphere in the room. It was so pretty, very modern chic looking place in Tudor City.

Sake Bar Hagi - NYC
Looks like this place doesn't have its own website. No matter, I linked it to the yelp page in case you wanted to see the reviews. As for my own reviews ... What is most memorable about this place was the two people sitting to the right of me in this tiny cramped but delicious place - the girl was asian and the guy was white. I think the guy was a photographer of some sort. Anyway, he was talking about shooting Prince? in some foreign country and the girl seemed all impressed with him. I couldn't believe how self-absorbed he was. I think at one point, they noticed TS and I were laughing at their conversation so they started speaking Japanese or something.

Anyway, what did we order there ... a fish dish and a noodle dish and some good ol beer. Yum! Great Japanese tapa style place. A little cramped and the wait was ridiculous I remember - like over an hour? Again no pictures ... ugh!

Menchanko-Tei - NYC & Waikiki, HI
Hm, I forgot which location it was ... close to Lincoln center I believe north of Central Park. I'm not very familiar with NYC streets and neighborhoods yet so this is the best I can do for now! I've also ate Ramen in Waikiki Hawaii. NYC was so much better however this particular location that I went to was shut down I believe. So sad!

Anyways, if you like a creamier broth, try the Ramen with the pork broth. The Miso broth noodle soup is not as creamy and thick, but its still delicious! :) I love noodle soup, its one of my favorite things to eat!

S'MAC - NYC
Located in Manhattan's East Villege, Amy took me to try some specialty mac and cheese. I can't exactly remember which one we tried ... perhaps the PARISIENNE? or GARDEN LITE? I did remember to take a picture of this!! :)

They have all different kinds - i.e. pizza flavered, cajun flavored ... etc! :) Great snack or meal!

Ok, remember that I love noodle soups and Sullung tang is absolutely one of my favorites. This place has the most delicious sullung tang ever mostly due to their delicious Kimchee that you can put into your soup. A must-go-eat when you're feeling homesick or nursing a hangover!
